Mother Maria Oliva Bonaldo of the Mystical Body (1893-1976) founded the family of the Daughters of the Church to make known the Lord, whose discovery had made her so happy. She confided to Father Lombardi, perhaps as early as 1950, her desire to create a "little village of Mary" as a broad project of social charity. Mother discovered the "Chiavichetta" hill, in the Ponte Galeria area (Rome), at the end of 1964, while looking for land to build a novitiate house. It was purchased on March 18, 1965. The land, approximately 40 hectares, with rural buildings, was intended to create what was to be the "Little Village of the Madonna." Mother Oliva intended to build a religious complex there: a novitiate, a clinic for nuns, a home for the elderly, a home for the physically disabled, and for orphans.
